About Us

Ben and Gilly Jaffé

After careers in the biological sciences we decided to plant a traditional standard apple orchard at Mill Farm in the wonderful Somerset village of Dinnington. In 2011 after much research using Liz Copas's wonderful Somerset Pomona our Orchard was planted. We have over 30 varieties comprising bittersweets and sharps. We now specialise in small batch ciders using both modern and tradtional techniques. Our passion is keeved cider which a historic technique based on slowing the fermentation of wild yeasts in the must to the point where it is arrested before all the apple suagrs are consumed. The result is a bottle conditioned fizzy wild ferment giving wonderful tannic apple flavours and rich caramel notes.

We have been awarded numerous gold medals for our ciders at the British Cider Championships in the past few years which finally culminating in the award of Reserve Champion in 2025 for our Cidre Bouché.

Our Story

Dinnington Cider Press is dedicated to crafting exceptional ciders from Somerset apples. Our journey began with a passion for traditional cider making, and we continue to honor that tradition today.
