Ben and Gilly Jaffé

After careers in the biological sciences we decided to plant a traditional standard apple orchard at Mill Farm in the Somerset village of Dinnington. In 2011 after much research using Liz Copas's Somerset Pomona we chose over 30 varieties of cider apples including favourites like Kingstone Black, Yarlington Mill and Dabinett. 

We specialise in small batch ciders using both modern and traditional techniques. Our passion is keeved cider which an historic technique based on slowing the fermentation of wild yeasts. The resulting ferment is arrested before all the apple suagrs are consumed. The final product is a bottle conditioned fizzy cider giving wonderful tannic apple flavours with rich caramel notes.

 We have been awarded numerous gold medals for our ciders at the British Cider Championships in the past few years which finally culminated in the award of Reserve Champion in 2025 for our Cidre Bouché.

Dinnington Cider Press is dedicated to crafting exceptional ciders from Somerset apples. Our journey began with a passion for traditional cider making, and we continue to honor that tradition today.
